결론 및 제언
류마티스 관절염 환자의 심리사회적 상태에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 본 연구 결과
성별, 교육수준, 치료비에 대한 부담감, 대상자의 직업, 수입, 통증 정도, 사회적지지, 지각된
변화가 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구 결과는 실무 측면에서 류마
티스 관절염 환자를 위시한 만성 질환자를 간호하는 모든 건강제공자들에게 자신들이 간호
하는 대상자의 심리사회적인 상태를 이해하는데 도움이 될 것이다. 즉 여성이 주 대상자의
류마티스 환절염 환자의 경우 심리사회적 상태에 대한 간호가 중요하다는 것을 알 수 있었
다. 또한 교육 수준이 높을수록 질병으로 인한 변화를 더 많이 지각한다는 것도 알 수 있었
는데 이 결과는 기존의 연구 결과와 차이가 있어 교육 수준에 따른 직업 변화 유무와 같이
연구할 필요성을 제기하였다.
사회경제적 특성에서는 치료비에 대한 부담감이 지각된 변화에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나
타나 직업이 없는 대부분의 류마티스 관절염 환자에서 중요한 변수로 고려하여야 함을 알
수 있었다. 질병 특성에서는 통증 부위나 불구 부위 혹은 질병 기간보다는 통증 정도가 유
의한 변수로 나타나 통증 관리 간호가 중요함을 알 수 있었다. 사회적 지지도 실제로 받는
다고 지각한 주위사람들의 도움 정도가 양적으로 측정한 숫자보다 중요한 것으로 나타나 사
회적 지지를 고려할 때 숫자보다는 지각한 도움 정도를 고려하여야 함을 알 수 있었다.

Chronic disease such as rheumatoid arthritis is believed to induce a significant
psychosocial stressors. The concept of illness intrusiveness -illness induced life style
disruptions-was hypothesized to affect psychosocial status. And demographic,
socioeconomic, disease and social characteristics were hypothesized to affect illness
intrusiveness. Hierarchial multiple regression analyses were used.
As a result, among the demographic factors gender was identified as contributor to
directly increase the psychosocial stress and education level was identified to affect the
psychosocial stress through illness intrusiveness. Among socioeconomic factors, the
burden about the cost of medical treatment was found to indirectly affect the
psychosocial stress through the illness intrusiveness. Also income and job were found to
affect directly the psychosocial status. Among the disease characteristics, only the pain
level was identified to increase the psychosocial stress through the illness intrusiveness.
Among the social characteristics, perceived social support is identified to increase the
psychosocial stress through the illness intrusiveness.
Based upon these results, some suggestions were made for minimizing illness
inclusiveness in rheumatoid arthritis and future research.
